In recent decades, E.W.I has significantly increased in demand, both privately and commercially, the industry is shifting towards a more energy-efficient and sustainable building practice. What is External Wall Insulation?
The primary purpose of External Wall Insulation is to reduce heat loss from within the building, which can significantly decrease energy consumption and heat costs. By enhancing the buildings thermal performance, E.W.I helps maintain a more comfortable and consistent indoor temperature throughout the year.
The Process
It involves applying a layer of insulation board to the exterior of the building, followed by a three-layer system that adds strength and support to the structure, this includes a polymer-modified base coat, a reinforced mesh which is fixed onto the base coat and then a second coat of polymer-modified render is applied over the top. For completion, the final step requires a pre-coloured topcoat render which creates the decorative finish.
